After reading some great recomendations and opinions here, I thought I would ask about this lens. I'm looking for a portrait lens and thought I was set on the 85mm f1.8. But I came across the Canon EF 100mm f2.0 and was intriuged. I read a few reviews and people seemed to really love it for tight portraits. Does anyone else have this lens? And what do you use it for?

B&H just happens to have one used for $299 that is in '10' condition. Looks like a great value!

I'll probably go with the 85mm 1.8 for the extra stop, but the 100mm 2.0 is a great value at that price!

I have it, and it is a great piece of glass. Compare it with the 85mm f1.8, and if the focal length is what you want, go for it.

Have Fun,

Yes.

Its a great lens but I like 85/1.8 better for some reason??

You won't be disappointed.

Yes, I love it. Excellent for portraits, low light sports, eg. in a gym... concerts...
