Is the kayaker out of focus, or is it just my CRT?

It might have been better if the kayaker was facing the camera.

I can't figure out if it's a fall foliage shot or a kayaker shot.

But that's just my opinion.

Great theme for the photo, but the focus should be on the paddler. A more central subject also next time. Good idea and if you get another chance shoot it and show us!

First time Kayaking. Had 2000 dollar camera in boat that seemed to tip over on demand. My focus point was actually the least of my concerns.

You are right on the focus point. EXIF indicates 655, which is max focus distance. I was focusing on the trees, not the kayaker. I'll fix it next year :-)

Ha ha. I've been in the same boat...no pun intended. Good choice on saving the camera. The trees are nice, but we want paddlers...maybe next year.
