i have seen some posts regarding this flash where can i find info ie prices etc....

i just bought a 420EX my only complaint is that i cant manually adjust the Flash Exposure level (if im wrong please correct me )

i think i read somthing somewhere that the 420EZ does

where do i find a 420EZ from what i read they are the same except the 420ez has manuall controll

I know that it's a tad more expensive, but if I'm not mistaken the 550EX allows for manual exposure control, is brighter, and gives you E-TTL. Might be the best bang for your buck.

No, they're not the same thing. The 420EZ will not work with ETTL metering. It can only be used manually.

You seem to be talking of the Speedlite 430EZ. As pointed out, that old flash can only do TTL and no E-TTL but it can be used manually (1/1, 1/2, ... 1/16). On a dSLR, it can ONLY be used manually. This flash is discontinued but you might find it used on ebay for a decent price.
