Hey,
I have a S500 and I lend my cam to someone. He comes back and tells me that the shutter button just fell off. He stuck it back on. The zoom lever is very loose now too. I e-mailed canon, and they says they don't know if this is a warranty case, they said I would have to send it in for them to see if it works. How likely is that they would cover the repair? How much do repairs cost?
Thanks
Wolfie

64% chance that it'll be covered by the warranty  (joking). If it's not covered, it will most likely cost around $150.

yea I called them, repairs start at $155. I can order the part set new for $22. Are there any sites with installation instructions, or a piece chart?
I need to kmow if I can replace the shutter button and the zoom level without any very special tools.
