View Full Version : Anti-twist plate for Stroboframe

I just got my 20D and vertical grip today. The grip has a much bigger footprint than the grip on the 10D so the anti-twist plate I use with the Stroboframe Pro-T bracket is too small. Without an anti-twist plate the bracket is virtually useless.
Does anyone know if there is a specific Stroboframe anti-twist plate for the 20D Vertical grip, or if one of the older plates would work?

It doesn't seem to be listed yet:

You might check into the plate for the Digitial Rebel Battery Grip, It has a similar size and appearance to the 20D Battery Grip. At first glance the two grips look almost identical, but of course on closer examination it's apparent that there enough small differences that they are not the same.

I asked the question and Vistek in Toronto has answered! The anti-twist plate that I needed for the 20D's Vertical grip - and it's sitting on my Stroboframe Pro-T bracket as I write - is the Stroboframe 300-BEI AT Plate for EOS 1/Nikon N90S and it's stamped BE1.
Ironicaly what started off as a problem will be a better solution since the lip (at about one cm) on the BE1 is three times as high as on the 10D's anti-twist plate, so right off everything seems more secure.

:) Outstanding, found this post and my problem is solved...thanks. I have a Canon 20 with battery grip and PRO-T and I was considering building my own anti-twist plate.

I'm confused as to this anti-twist plate.
I own the Strobo Pro-RL. Maybe the antitwist plate comes with it but the RL provided a mount for me to place my camera. I could place a QR on the plate but they provided a cork backing I could place on the plate instead.
Since the Pro-RL comes with a "kickstand", I decided to go with the cork backing only (without a QR).
So is the anti-twist plate you are looking for the cork backing, a QR, or the plate to set your camera upon?

This thread is no help to me. I have a 20D WITHOUT the BG-E2 Battery Grip. I want to know which anti-slip plate I should use on a Stroboframe Pro-T that I already own (without any anti-slip plate on it). Why do all my searches only refer to plates for use with the Battery Grip?? Is there anybody out there using a Stroboframe Pro-T with a 20D that does not have the Battery Grip?

I have that combination, oh friendly one. You need this (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=50547&is=REG) for the 20D without vertical grip. If you want to mount it to a tripod you'll also ned this (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=52735&is=REG). This is correct, I copied and pasted from my B&H order, and i've used mine succesfully.
