I'm as new as they get to macro photography. I'm still testing out my Canon 100mm macro lens.
Attached to this image is a truly ugly shot of a glass bluebird about 2 inches tall.
I'm still amazed at how this lens captures such detail. I looked at the glass bluebird closely with an old fashioned hand magnifier and was surprised to find the detail of the bird so similar to the detail of this lens.
It will take me some time to get to the point of taking pictures of objects in true macro, but from what I've seen of this lens produces...it's truly capable of macro photography....and some really sharp not-so-macro shots as well.
