Looking for a tutorial on how to create an action to copy a group of layers and apply to a large number of images PSCS3.
Any help appreciated.

I assume you're referring to adjustment layers. I don't know how it's done, sorry.
What's wrong with simply recording the adjustment layers in an action?

No, I'm actually talking about simply copying a group of layers containing graphic elements. I want to create a template with certain elements on layers and then create an action that will apply those same layers to other images automatically.

Are you defining these "graphic elements" as a rasterized layer or as a path. It makes a difference on how you can accomplish this. Perhaps you could post an example of your original source that you want to create the action off of.

It would be as simple as creating a file with one layer with type on it and applying that file with one layer with type to many other images. The problem is that I can find a way to record the step of moving a layer from one file to another.

You gave me the tip with the word "apply".
The best way I can figure to do it is to:
1) Have the source image open
2) Make a new blank layer on the target image.
3) Image > Apply Image. (Layer: first source layer; Blending: normal)
4) Keep making new blank layers and applying each source layer separately.
Sounds time-consuming, but once the action is recorded, it'll do it in a second.
