I have a massive $50 Amazon gift certificate to burn. I am a total newb with a newly acquired 350D. I already have a nice bag (Lowerpro Slignshot), a handful of basic accessories (cleaning kits, tripod, spare battery and charger, etc), the nifty fifty lens and a Canon 28-135 IS lens. I was thinking of getting an Op/Tech strap, but what else do you think I should get to get me started on learning and using this new camera?

Thanks for the advice.

This is good advice. I just bought this book over the weekend and finished it yesterday. Great information and is spelled out in a way that is easy to understand. Great book.

If it doesn't expire soon, I'd say save it. One thing you'll find is that the more you learn, the more you're going to want equipment that you can't afford. It's a photographer's curse.. =) There's enough out there online for you to learn the ropes.

If you're bent on spending:
-A giotto rocket would be a good addition to the bag so you can blow dust from your lens w/out actually touching it.
-The nifty fifty is a nice cheap addition that will let you have a fast prime.
-A battery grip for the XT is a very good addition. Mine literally never comes off.

Put it towards a nice (and therefore probably more than $50) tripod
