I've got a wedding coming up next month. The bride and groom want the group shots done before the ceremony so that they aren't rushed afterwards.
I figure this should really make things easy for me. :D Has anyone shot a wedding under similar circumstances?

I've done some of the shots a week in advance when one wedding did a full dress rehearsal. I don't think you see a great deal of this due to the tradition of the groom is not supposed to see the bride in her dress until the ceremony time. As with some traditions this one is just that a tradition and some couples are willing to break it.

As a norm I have done a large portion of the bride, her attendants and anyone else she wants from her family before the ceremony. If the wedding is at 3 then I am most likely shooting her by at least 1.

I'd jump up and down and probably do a flip to have that opportunity!!! Then youd have a little more free time to do some creative pics of the bride and groom..

good luck!!

The bride and groom have been living together for several years now and don't really care for the "can't see the bride before the wedding tradition". I'm hoping to get my first "TOOGY" group shot out of this. :-)

Man, I wish I had that kind of leeway. Too many of my clients tend to think about that superstitious rule about the groom seeing the bride before the wedding ceremony happens.

My fiancee' has no such reservations. She wants me to shoot her bridal portraits, and believe me I'm going to have a lot of fun shooting those. :) Shame I can't shoot my own wedding.. :(
