Hi all,
I have been a long time lurker in this forum, but finally I have registered.
This is my first post and I would really like your honest comments on a couple of photos.
Both are taken with a Canon EOS 300D, Canon EF 28-135 IS USM (IS off) mounted on a Manfrotto 055Pro w/141RC head and also using a wired remote.
Thanks in advance

Those are both very nice. The waterfall is unique. What was the light source for it? You might want to crop some of the dark area at the top of these to focus attention more to the subject. Not a criticism just a comment.

Thanks Bill. Yes, the water fall was lit, sorry, but I don't know what the light source is called in English, but it's just normal light that they use to light up for instance churches...
Thanks for tip, will try to crop more, but usually I try to stay within the aspect ratio of 10x15cm (4x6inch) when cropping

nice shots, but I agree that a tighter crop would be better on #2 (for me)
maybe a crop just above the bridge, to focus on that cool water effect

I like both very much, Just wish I could take the same kind of quality photos. Whenever I try to take shots like this they lack the detail and always seem to be over exposed.
Any Ideas where I might be going wrong

Composition doesnt do much for me.
Maybe try some different shot locations or framing.

that nighttime waterfall just blew my mind!
how about a tighter crop just on the water part -- the contrast between the silky white water and black surroundings is great.
also, is it possible to get lower? maybe if the bridge was a bit higher in the shot, the blurred water could be even more effective.
great work...

A waterfall at night! Very well done, I really like it. You've captured the color and flow very well.
