Ok I've had it for 4 hours. I finally got a raw and a jpeg pic through the process. Insert your CF card and elements loads and you can easily copy from a CF card to a file in My photos. Cool, it reads jpeg and raw mixed just fine and puts them in a working file.. Seems as fast as drag and drop. Only did a few so this is not a real good test. Bring Elements 3.0 and load a file. If it is jpeg it loads just like E2. If it is Raw it loads to the Raw page and you have full control over the parameters, wt bal, contrast, exposure etc. Work in 8 or 16 bit and save as you like. So far It seems like a nice combination.

Just wanted E2 users who are trying to decide weather to order it, to know it works well and a lot like the CS trial version I tried. I got it thru amazon for $94 with $45 rebates. so for $49 you can't go wrong!

I'm wondering if canon will bundle version 3 with later models of the 20D.
I bought my 20D last friday and it came with version 2.

Obviously only Canon can answer this, but my experience is that they generally lag well behind the latest and greates commercial offering. I bought a G5 earlier this year, and it came with Elements 1.0.

Update..

Tried Raw again for a test.

My processor is a 2gig hz Pent 4

Copied 100 pic's (raw) from the card in (1) folder.

With Win XP doing a copy. It took 12 min and 35 seconds.

With E2 (get photo's) function it took 15 min 5 seconds for the same 100 pics.

Ok its a little slower but it wil copy all files from multiple folders. On copy you have to go to each folder and copy. So overall it may be just as fast.
