This is a really ambitions set, and I think that you have succeeded -- although the weather (light, etc) did not cooperate. I like the river view form the castle best. The boats. Some perspective. A touch of color.
I know that when I am in Britain (talking film now), I do not see the color. I see the grey (stone castles), the green (grasses), some brown (forget where). I only see the color at the harbours and gardens.
I guess what I should do is look at more British photo books to see what I am missing.
Anyway, I think that I may have mentioned in another reply that I have an untouched cut-out book of this castle somewhere. I gave it to one of my boys when he was going through his Dungeons and Dragons days. Wow, what those guys know about this aspect of history would knock you dead.
Thanks guy,

Just wonderful pictures damian
Many thanks
I must have missed those when they were on the forum first time round
you got great interesting views in and from the castle
I love the river views also
especially no 2
The weather is nearly always a bit dull in these islands, when we want to 'shoot'
but , on the credit side ,
it can add to the atmosphere, showing the brickwork
& age of the buildings in a more realistic 'light' for todays modern age
I can feel the lovely breeze coming in through that 'open window' : ) which is looking down on the street
its really nice

Thanks for the comments - it means a lot.
You are right about the light - particularly on the west coast - but I see colours everywhere I look. Maybe when I am a better photographer I'll capture some of them.
Cheers
