So I was trying to help my friend get into Canon DSLR cameras, she was a die hard Nikonian for a while and I converted her. I just got my 300D less than 2 months ago after switching from a 5700 I had for a month, realizing it wasnt enough for me. I've been all about Canon EOS cameras since.
Long story short, I was looking for a 550EX flash recently, and trying to help my friend get herself a camera, when in exchange I ended up signing my life away to a 20D (in return, im going to sell her my 300D with the kit lens). I think I've lost my mind, I just paid the most you could possibly pay for one, because after realizing how close I could be to owning one, I stopped looking at the price. $1733.93, US.
The camera better make me smile from ear to ear for 5 mos (thats how long its gonna take me to pay it off), the bill is going to make me frown.

Photojennak, welcome over from the darkside. You won't be sorry but you will be broke!!! Have fun with your new camera. Is this your first foray into the digital SLR world too or did you have a Nikon digital SLR?

Hehe thanks Ballen. Im glad I could help her out, she's actually the person who inspired me to dive into photography as a longtime dream of mine. Shes the one with the better eye out of us, Im just the one with the DSLR (for now). She was a film user *hiss*. I'm trying to kick her in the shins to post more, hopefully having a new (just over 1000 actuations) DRebel will get her going more!

Thank you thank you!
This will be my first digital SLR. I've been a long time traditional film type. :D I have a few film cameras and usually take all of them when I go shooting, but I've been told (no I was bet) that I would only be taking my new DR out with me instead once I get it. :o
I've been reading the forums here for a bit and have set comments to a few but I hope to be posting some work soon too!
yah! now I have to get Reminisce posting shots too!!

Some of what the 20D can do. Most shot raw.
Reliase that digital does take post processing.

Congrats, and wait until these guys get you addicted to the glass with the infamous red ring.
You thought you signed your life away for a camera body? hah, you have seen nothing yet, lol.

Ahh Reminisce...
You have not lost your mind yet.. just the beginiing oif the loss process in fact.. satartimg with your Bank acoount,.. your credit line,., then your mind..
The Camera is the tip of the iceberg.. you have merely done the same amount of damage to your mind as a good weekend bender would result...
It's the lenses.. man.. that's when the true "Bike crash without a helmet" brain damage starts.

I still take my older Canon Elan out with me when I take photos. It's there just in case something happens to the 10D.
Congrat's on having such a nice friend that he would make the sacrifice and get a brand new 20D so you can take his DR.

Hi, Reminisce! I'm right there beside you in the lost mind department. I'm in the process of converting from a Nikon DSLR user to a Canon DSLR user. As you can see from my sig below I have purchased some glass, mostly of the red ring variety, but I don't have a Canon SLR body yet. I'm hoping the camera goes gold SOON because I've got the money all set aside to pick it up. 8)
Anyway, I just wanted to step in here and announce another Canon convert.

Welcome to CanonLand!
uummmm, Nikon have/had some good stuff too. Talk all you peoeple want, but the CP990 I had at that time (year 2000 when it was $1000) was one of the best macro cameras out there.

Its here!!
First of all, I hate and love DHL at the same time and here is why.
The package shipped the 29th (today) at 1:04 in the morning. It got here before noon. THATS FAST!!
However, the package was SITTING AT MY DOORSTEP!! What the heck? Good thing I live in a decent area with great neighbors. But still. Im gonna call DHL and report that cause thats just not cool.
Anyway, the battery is charging and it seems like its taking forever! So off to Fedex I go to mail the DR to photojennak up above, maybe it'll be done if I drive VERRY SLOWLY! hehe.

up does the same..
FedEX does the same....
they all leave it on the porch :)
DHL Does suck. They've gotten a lil better since DeutschePost bought them and saved them from bankrupcy, but they still suck!
