A lower shutter speed definitely.
It will give more motion to the photo, whereas right now they look too still. Try searching for panning techniques, I'm sure someone on here has a writeup.

Nice pictures but i agree with dsky , you need for sure a lower shutter speed.
But if this are your first shots with the camera than you did for sure a good job.
Here some tips for panning:

they are clear, however, it would be better if you used slower shutter speed to give a sense of motion (100-200? lower?) in the tires and background instead of the cars looking almost "stopped" (try using TV mode before you lower shutter speed)

The one of #57 is my favorite. How did you get down to the infield? Maybe move 1/8 way around the track to the right which would have put some sun on front and left side of the cars. But then they would not be leaning through the turn. Then there's that shutter speed thing with careful panning.... Nice job and keep posting.;)

Definately lower shutter speed and also think more about your lighting, the last shot in particular has the sun way too much behind the car.

Thanks you guys for commenting! Last time I checked this thread it had no replies so I thought it was dead. Unfortunately I did not see this until now so I didn't change the shutter speed this weekend either. Now I know.
Anyways here is one from this weekend that I think is kinda cool. I know the sun and shadows are awful but that was the corner of the track that this car 'lifted' in every lap and I wanted to try to get a semi-decent pic of it.
Thanks for looking and thanks for the feedback! I will work on the lower shutter speed this weekend for sure!

Also thought I'd share a few more from this weekend. And yeah I agree, other than sometimes the tires turning or lifting they look like they're sittin gon the track posing! LOL Hopefully I'll have some better ones to share next week! -- Wish me luck! LOL
