I believe they are the Miraflores locks entering from the Pacific side. The public
observation building can be seen on the right.

Nice shot!

Now is definitely the time of year to be in Panama. I was there about 4 times in the mid-1970's and most those times were in the summertime - YUK! :evil:

However, one of those times while visiting the Miraflores locks I was able to actually go across the lock and into the control house where all of the action takes place. That was very nice!!!

(A friend's cousin was in charge and let us in - try that nowadays I DON'T THINK SO!)

On the other end of the scale from the QE2, this is how a lot of the tourists see the Panama Canal. :) (Canon S5IS)
