I just picked up the Feisol 3442 tripod was was looking for a good ballhead to accompany it. Does anyone have any experience (either positive or negative) with the Feisol CB-50D ballhead? What about any other recommendations? Thanks in advance for your help.

Look at Markins or RRS.
I don't think I'd buy a Feisol ballhead. Tripod legs - yes, if looking for a budget CF leg set. Ballheads, no. they are pretty much unproven here.

Not sure about the Feisol brand but some of the Chinese made ball heads have a bad reputation for poor build quality. They often times appear as high quality knock offs from the likes of Kirk, Really Right Stuff and Markins.
Usually where the problem comes in is the internal design in how the tension adjustment makes contact with the ball surface. You for sure don't won't second rate quality that causes gouging to the ball surface.
Read this link on the design of the Benro KS-2 Ball Head made in China (http://www.tomwebsterphoto.com/Essays/Benro/benroks2.htm)

I can't speak for the Feisol, but I can speak for the Cullman:

Though it has a German name & packaging, it is made in China. I didn't know this for a fact before I received mine, but guessed that had to be the case for the price.
This ballhead suits me fine, I have it sitting on a Bogen 055MF3 tripod and will soon have an RRS QR Clamp on top of it (once RRS gets to shipping my order).

I've owned both the Feisol legs and the ballhead. The legs are great. The ballhead fell apart.

Which bits fell apart? I'm always interested to hear where the weak parts are in these designs.

The screw that open and closes the platform came completely out, causing the whole platform to fall apart. I screwed it back in but it kept working its way out again.
It's a shame because I really love the legs.
