Went out and had a first time go at shooting Boat Racing. Here are two I was happy with.

Both at 1/25th sec on a MKIII, 500mm f4, 1.4TC and wimberly head.

Great Shots!

As for being dangerous, the crew are in safety cells with escape hatches on the underneath of the boat (when upside down on the surface), the have scuba systems and are trained on how to escape and be self sufficient.

All Motorsport is dangerous to a degree!

I love them! Shooting offshore boats at that shutter speed and keeping them sharp is very difficult. Usually there is to much vertical movement in the boats due to the waive action. I've tried a few times even on our lake with no results even close to those. Did you add any more background blur in photoshop? Good work!

Very good shots, especially at that shutter speed and focal length. How fast were these guys running?

Great shots, as for my taste i'd keep em just like they are.
