These are some shots that me and the wife took of each other today. Her bike had an issue so we just swapped my bike back and forth.

Notice the huge difference in the look of hte pics due tot he change in shutter speed.

You shot at 1/125 and got good wheel blur to imply motion and speed. Your 1/40th pan of her is impressive. Moto is very hard to shoot below 1/125th and get keepers.

She shot at 1/800 which makes the wheels look like they are stopped. The pics almost look posed. There is not motion or speed expressed.

I usually shoot moto at 1/250 to 1/320. It gives a good feel of motion and still gets you plenty of keepers.

Yeah I was actually just using AV and letting camera decide the shutter from there. Then I gave it to her with a bigger AV value of F6 I think.... Will try and keep above 100 next time.
