Does anyone have one of these? How does it compare to the Ultra II and Ultra III. I was going to grab one from newegg for $35.99. Is that a good price? I have a Sandisk Ultra III card. It's only 2 gb but usually holds enough for me. I was going to grab this and throw it in my bag as an extra just incase. What do you think?

I'd like to know this too, since I typically only use SanDisk Ultra.

I have a the 4gb 120x CF card and have never had a problem with it. I get about a 18mb/s transfer rate.

Hmmm... in that case, this is a great deal.

Yes it is, thats why I jumped on it a while back. I already had two 8GB extreme III cards, but for $39 why not?

You can buy the 8gb sandisk for about $60 after rebate.

I haven't heard anything bad about transcend, but haven't heard much at all either.

+1 for the Transcend 8G 133x cards. I've been using a pair of them in my XTi and haven't noticed any issues.

Got a TS8GCF133 (the orange colour 8G 133x CF card) for my 40D, and was getting image corruption. In camera about 1 in 10 images wouldn't preview and showed as corrupted. Same problem after download, but luckily was shooting raw+JPG, and no images had both corrupted.

Tested the card with two different USB2 adapters, and it was fine (copied 8G of data to it from a DVD and then did a binary compare), so suspected 40D compatibility issues.
I put it to one side and was going to return it when I was next passing the store.
This week I did a firmware upgrade on the 40D from 1.0.3 to 1.0.8, and though it was worth re-testing, glad I did because the card is fine now.

No mention of a CF problems being fixed in these versions, but it's definitely fine now. I've shot over 100 images without a single problem.

Now carefully watching the price on the TS16GCF133 (16G 133x), but will wait a bit as prices will only drop (and my first big event of the year is in July).

Roger.

Super, thanks for the info. I held off on getting one but I am going to go ahead and order a couple soon. Thanks!

If it helps, I'm using Transcend cards. I did a HD-Tach comparison between my 8GB Transcend 120x and the Sandisk Extreme III 8GB and the Transcend scored 18.8MB/s average read compared to the Sandisk's 18.6.

I've just ordered a 16GB Transcend 133x (sold my 4GB 120x Transcend) to add to the collection :)

The only bad thing about Transcend is the fruity label.

I have this Transcend 8GB card, too. It works a treat.

I was going to buy some more but a friend wanted a couple of the 8GB SanDisks so went with those as they also come out to $36 each after the rebate if you buy three ($89 x 3 = $267 - $160 rebate (this is NOT cash, but a Visa thing) = $107/3= $36ish).

If there was no rebate and left to my own devices I would have simply ordered more Transcends.
