We're finding that the Auto ISO mode, which is supposed to move between 50-150, only works in the S30's Auto mode. In manual modes(Program, Tv, Av, M), Auto ISO stays at ISO50.

Since the G2 has roughly the same feature set as the S30/S40, can someone comment on this problem? I'm wondering if this is done on purpose or if it's a bug.

I hope that I understand your question! I never use the G2's auto mode. I am usually shooting in Tv and Av modes as I rarely carry a light meter.
But here is the difference.
The G2 allows you (in Av and Tv for example) to set the ISO to 50, 100, 200,, or 400.

I'll just jump in here with a comment about the G1 which in auto ISO mode varies between ISO 50 and 100. I just did a quick test in Program mode and it works as advertised - switching between ISO 50 and 100 depending on lighting conditions.

Hmm, okay. So it works on the G1.
Howie, I think you misunderstood my question. The G2 and S30/S40 have ISO settings for 'Auto', which should vary between 50-150. When you're in Program, Tv, Av, or Manual on the S30, the Auto ISO setting should shift as necessary for the lighting conditions. However, we're finding that the Auto ISO mode never shifts out of ISO50. It does, however, work properly in point-and-shoot camera modes.
So, my question is if the G2 has this same fault or not.

First, G2 auto ISO is supposed to go from 50 to 100, not 150.
Second, my understanding is that this is only in Program or fully-automated modes.
If you're in Av and you select f2.5, what should the camera do as to the ISO rating? This seems an unlikely feature to me.
