I would love to have a sling bag that I could fit my 100-400L, with either the XTi or 40D body, w/grip attatched. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I'm actually looking for the same thing. Does any one know if this bag is large enough to fit a body with a 100-400 attahced? I don't think it is but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I think the only way you would be able to fit it would be the lay your gear sideways. Again, if it will fit at all.

I can barely fit my 1D MKIII + 100-400 this way in my SS 200 so not sure on the SS100.

I think overall, SS 200 is the better choice...as long as you don't load it up. You'd be surprised what you can load up in these things!

I have this bag...it does not fit in there. It is difficult to even get the lens in there with out a body.

My 100-400 on camera fits sideways only in my Domke F-1x or F-2. The hood's actually too big for any of the inserts I have, so while the lens will fit upright in a compartment of any of the inserts, the hood has to be stored separately. Only with the F-802 or F-7 Double AF will the body and lens together fit vertically (again, with the hood stored separately).

Well I can tell you that the Lowepro Slingshot 300 AW and Lowepro Fastpack 350 both will hold the 100-400 attached to a 5D with grip and offer the "sling" around feature. Not sure if thats what your looking for but thought Id offer.

I have a Lowepro Fastpack 200. It will hold a 100-400L mounted to a 40D. If you want to consider a shoulder bag style, my favorites for that body/lens combo are the Domke F-4AF and F-802. For all weather protection, a Lowepro Toploader 75 works well.

Thank you for all of the reccomendations! I have looked all of them up, and I like the Loweprosj, which I always seem to! Does anybody know anything about the Tamrac Velocity bags?

Thanks Gizmo, that was the other bag I was looking at so I think I'll get that one. Thanks again for the advice!

I have a Velocity 8x too (yes, I'm a bag-a-holic). It will hold a 40D mounted to a 100-400L, but I'm not sure if a gripped 40D would fit.
