yes they work.

B&H asked the Epson Rep this afternoon and he said it would recognize the first 2GB but nothing more :(

What capacity are the SDHC cards you use? I'm using 8gb.

Hmmm. I checked on Epson's site, http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&infoType=FAQ&oid=75843&prodoid=63061067&foid=81663 and according to their information, it does read up to 8GB SDHC cards. However, on page 16 of their user manual, it states it can read SD & SDHC cards (up to 2GB). I'm emailing them to confirm. Sounds like Epson is even confused.

Does anyone know if it's a firmware or hardware issue that would allow SDHC cards >8gb to be read? Just thinking ahead for the future...

It's firmware. That's how Canon got the 1D series cameras to read the SDHC cards - with a firmware update.

Yes, you would think that Epson would roll it our already. It's one of the many things I have to do...that is to check if there is any new firmware for it.

I don't know what Epson is talking about but I use only <4gb SD SDHC cards 8gb being my largest, in both CF and SD formats.

And it works fine!

It looks like whoever replied to your email query just looked it up in their outdated P3000 manual. You should refer him (or her) to their own FAQ website. :|

Thanks for the info. I had placed my order with B&H Monday and in a panic, called to cancel when I didn't see SDHC cards listed. The salesman said he checked with a couple of people there, including the Epson Rep and the Rep said it would only recognize the first 2GB of larger cards. I just may place my order again after finding out from users confirmed the larger cards work.

POTN is great. Thanks.

I replied to Epson's first answer and here is the reply. Yes, the P3000 does take 8GB SDHC cards!

"Thank you for contacting the Epson Connection.

We apologize for the confusion. Yes the P-3000 does accept SDHC up to 8 GB
capacity. This is part of a firmware update v2.51. The firmware that
Epson may release for this unit in the future will determine the size of
supported memory cards.

If you require further assistance with this particular issue, please ensure
