Now that I am getting back into photo, I need to up date my portfolio. I left photo about 10 years ago so everything is out of date. I cant afford to hire several models just for portfolio work. ...So does anybody have any rescorces to find some models that will work TFP in Maryland? I am trying several online places but dont seem to find any good models there. ANY help is very apprecieated!

Go to www.craigslist.org. It is a free online advertising service where you can advertise for most anything that is within their terms of service. I'd suggest posting an ad looking for models under: Services - Creative.

Or hit Model Mayhem and search for models in your area. I have a friend who works in your neck of the woods and he's got models knocking his door down via MM.

My vote goes to Model Mayhem. Done it once, and know of a few girls that pose for trade.... Seems to work out. :)

You're lucky then Doc! I'm batting zero with the MM models. Every single one has flaked on me. :(

I've only used them once... but after reading around, I'd think you can get a feel for the ones who actually shoot and who don't? Guess I have a lot to learn about that. :)

Well... avoid the newbies. Talk to the ones that HAVE done 5 shoots or so, it means they do show up to some people.

I've been contacting the newbs, thinking they would be eager to shoot to get their portfolio started. I'll start contacting some of the more experienced ones. Thanks for the tip.

time for prints (I think) - you get a model, you give the prints for their portfolio win-win.

My girlfriend is a model on Model Mayhem. We are in the PA area but she doesnt shoot for TFP. If you are willing to pay alittle bit I can talk to her and see if she can cut you a deal. PM me if interested. And that goes for anyone on here that is looking for a female model. Thanks.

I have never thought to look on craigs list. I would have never imagined they had models there. But you should take a look at MM. There is everything from true wanna be's that have a profile just to be able to say they are a model. All the way to faces you will recognise from national ad campaigns. And everything in between.
Results vary dramitacally. Especially when talking about working TF*. MM is what you make of it. I have now been drawing models for personal projects from MM for 2 years and have had only 1 no show. But I found out from another model who knows her that it was a legit excuse. Others have had more no shows than sucesses.

Looking to do a tfp/cross promotion shoot with me to update some new looks. Something we BOTH can add to our portfolios! Preferably in or around Glen Burnie, Maryland but am open to other areas depending on distance and scenery. Photographer must be willing to sign (or provide if you have something) a copyright release letter/note for me making the photos officially MINE.. but of course you can add them to your portfolios ;)
I'm NON-UNION but eligible to join if I want. Had 2 leading parts on a show for the discovery channel..was a model on the FOX5 DC morning show with Holly Morris modeling MC HAMMER, ROBIN HOOD and BATMAN costumes and had a small part in a lifetime movie. I also was featured in a Noggin promo (now Nick Jr.) as well as a bunch of other stuff dating back to 1987. You can see all that and more on my portfolio to see if we would be a good match to team up and create some COOL photos we both can pump out there and be proud of. Last "cross promotion" I did was with a photographer in Charlotte for my "Young, Gifted & Greek" photo shoot in 2009.
thanks for your time.. and hope to create some new magic soon!!
