Now that I am getting back into photo, I need to up date my portfolio. I left photo about 10 years ago so everything is out of date. I cant afford to hire several models just for portfolio work. ...So does anybody have any rescorces to find some models that will work TFP in Maryland? I am trying several online places but dont seem to find any good models there. ANY help is very apprecieated!

Go to www.craigslist.org. It is a free online advertising service where you can advertise for most anything that is within their terms of service. I'd suggest posting an ad looking for models under: Services - Creative.

Or hit Model Mayhem and search for models in your area. I have a friend who works in your neck of the woods and he's got models knocking his door down via MM.

My vote goes to Model Mayhem. Done it once, and know of a few girls that pose for trade.... Seems to work out. :)

You're lucky then Doc! I'm batting zero with the MM models. Every single one has flaked on me. :(

I've only used them once... but after reading around, I'd think you can get a feel for the ones who actually shoot and who don't? Guess I have a lot to learn about that. :)

Well... avoid the newbies. Talk to the ones that HAVE done 5 shoots or so, it means they do show up to some people.

I've been contacting the newbs, thinking they would be eager to shoot to get their portfolio started. I'll start contacting some of the more experienced ones. Thanks for the tip.
