I usually shoot landscape but am really interested in street stuff, getting a little more confident shooting in cities, when I get chance to visit (live in countryside) thought share a few for critique.

nice street shots - you captured some good emotion. I really like number one - the contrast between the down & out guy and the starbux behind him, then the comparison of the girl in the window and mr. down & out, same look, same posture... interesting

he's prolly feeling down and out because of the starbucks itself and all the capitolism involved....lol

Interesting stuff. Even though they appear to be in entirely different worlds, the guy and gal shown in the crop of the first image both seem to be deep in thought. Well spotted. ;)
Did anybody notice the arrow on the sign in the last image seems to be pointing straight at the guy bending over to pick something up?
Also well spotted.

I love all of these ... they are probably the best street candids I've seen in a long time for all of the reasons already stated, and my heart just really went out to the man that looks homeless, or down and out. You seem to have caught something in each photo. Very nice job!!

The first might have been even better if you could have moved in closer rather than standing back .... difficult to do however without being obvious.

The butt collector :) he was wandering along picking up cigarette butts from the gutter, shot 'from the hip' as I was quite close (28mm) so a bit of luck involved too lol

I agree :) Still feeling a little nervous doing street stuff and I feel quite bad taking photo's of the unfortunate.

I think these are excellent street photos. I like the first and last best. I did see what Bruce saw, the sign pointing to the butt-picker. It makes the shot!
In the first photo, the sign above the hapless man also serves a huge role, it looks as if it is repelling the other pedestrians, hence the uncrowded space in that area. Well captured. Welcome to the forum!
