This is my first posting on this forum.
I would love to get some constructive comments on my photos.
This one was taken on a very sunny day trying out my polarising filter.

From the looks of it, was the sun essentially almost right above you but infront of the camera instead of to your direct left or right to utilize the polar filter?

Yes it was.
I liked the sillhouette effect on the two people and the light on the wet sand.
I had to take the photo in a hurry as my camera was switched off when I saw the couple and the actual photo as shot has a horrible slope on the horizon which I corrected in PS.

Hi Stephanie,
It's not a bad photo but you probably would have got a better effect with the sun at 45 degrees to the camera. Saying that, you may not have got the couple in the shot then ;-)
Personally, I'd consider cropping the image to get rid of the lens flare in the top and reduce the amount of sand at the bottom. You might also consider converting to B&W?
Out of interest, where was this taken? This looks familiar from when I used to dive in west Wales before I moved to Oz. Is it near Dale?
Cheers,
Chris

I think this would have been a great photo is it was taken at some other time of the day with a little better light.

I love the "feel" of your shot, Stephanie ... I think you did an excellent job of capturing the moment. Technically, I'd like to see the lens flare cropped out (or otherwise removed) and perhaps some of the left side cropped so that your subject (the couple) is not "bullseyed" in the center of the image. I recommend cropping from the left so that all of "what's ahead" of the couple is preserved.

Remember it well - lovely area and some of the best diving in the UK.
