30D with 60efs and undiffused pop up flash - a very basic set up but not too bad.
Appears to be a female Epistrophe eligans.

Racketman's pics.

Good find :)

Toby- seems to work better with the page URL with .jpg on the end of it eg last one is http://www.pbase.com/racketman/image/94065641.jpg in img brackets

I normally use the page URL but noticed they were then resized on POTN to 800x565 instead of 900x637 and thence lost the EXIF info which MJ likes to read. All very baffling.

Here is the Spirit Pop Up Flash Diffuser some are using on their MT 24ex flash; I didn't have it on my pop up flash today but will try it out tomorrow:

origional 800x650 so presume EXIF will be readable:

so how do you post images full size without POTN resizing to 800 width?

troypiggo

I don't think POTN resizes them at all. You have to link images that are the correct size to start with. You can go up to 1024x1024 these days. I usually use this code:

http://image.url/thumbnail.jpg (http://image.url/image.jpg)

If you don't want it to be a link from a smaller image:

http://image.url/image.jpg

thumb link works, but its been resized again!

troypiggo

It's not POTN resizing them. If you type in the .jpg's URL you are using in your posts, that image is only 800px wide. Seems to be the size of the images you are linking from, rather than here at POTN.

seems to need 'original at end of URL which is not automatic when first opening image even in original size - got it by going to smaller size then back to original size - let's see if that works:

That's it! Except for the typo in your opening img tag :) Get rid of the first /

okay thanks Troy that seems to work in that we now see full size and can read the EXIF. I must check I am getting the correct URL in PBase.

racketman

now to try that with the thumbnail code:

http://thump01.pbase.com/t1/33/541333/4/93912077.mSYcrVvW.jpg (http://www.pbase.com/racketman/image/93912077/originaljpg)

The [url="xxx"] code you have used has a typo. It has linked that actual pbase webpage, not the image directly ;)

funny, when I click it I get the image. Never mind, thumbnails are too much hassle I will stick to posting full sized - at least I know how to do that now.
