I took this sun rise the other day, but have had problems getting rid of the ring around the sun. brightening the image seems to help but at the expense of being washed out looking.
do you have any suggestions on how I can eliminate the sun's ring or how to shoot this differently so that the ring is not visable?
Thanks for your help

It would help to have a little more technical information, like what kind of camera, lens, settings, etc.
Did you have a UV filter on the lens? You're shooting directly into the sun. Looks like a reflection off the filter...

If you have photoshop mess around with the color select option. You can get decent results without knowing too much about PS with photographs like yours that have few but distinct colors.
