I bought a bag of chocolate coated peanuts (Saturday just gone,) as a treat whilst watching tele.
To my horror I found not one, but two chocolate coated raisins in with my nuts.
This is not the first time this has happened and I am sure it won't be the last.
I have sent a scathing e-mail to Tesco who, for protection reasons, shall remain nameless.
Grrrrr! Grrrrr! and thrice Grrrrr!

Are you sure they were really raisins? Could have been squirrels in the factory.
Come to think of it, are you sure it was all chocolate?

Well, they go on about people with nut allergies but they don't seem concerned with the countless sufferers of RAS (raisin aversion syndrome)

Hey, I'm eating my raisins, chow mein fried noodles and peanuts as we speak! Don't knock the raisin. They keep me from getting fat! ;) But I do like the nuts.

Raisins are the scourge of the food world.
I remember my first fruit and nut bar, it took ages to suck the chocolate of the raisins.

I like raisins, and I like chocolate, but I don't like them together. Unexpectedly biting into chocolate-covered raisins while eating chocolate-covered peanuts would be a traumatic experience to say the least!

Seriously. A criminal waste of chocolate as far as I'm concerned. The combo actually seems to lower the quality of both items.

Chocolate raisins are a taste sensation! I was addicted to them at one time - I have now got control of my addiction and have lowered it to just raisins...

(So many responses, so little time. Pick whichever one you like.)
1 - I find that sitting up while I eat keeps food from falling into my lap.
2 - You may want to see a doctor about that.
3 - Reminds me of the food scene from "9-1/2 Weeks".
4 - Try eating while you're dressed.
5 - Those aren't raisins.

I'm old enough to remember eating boxes of Poppets in the cinema on saturday mornings.
Well, I usually ate half the box, the rest of them usually got thrown at my mates, or at the ushers.

So then, I take it you prefer Goobers (chocolate covered nuts) to Raisinets?
They are a staple at every movie theater I have EVER been to.
Since you say that it sounds wrong, have you ever actually tried one?
Try it, you might like it.

Why would you want to ruin perfectly good chocolate by contaminating it with nuts or raisins??? Chocolate is best enjoyed in a pure and unadulterated form.

In conclusion:
For the benefits of the general populous I had to determine the extent to which the problem occurred.
I returned to un-named super store and, without regard to the cost of research, purchased another bag of said high quality snack.
I continued selflessly eating the contents of the bag one at a time to check for errant raisins.
The bag contained 324 allegedly chocolate peanuts of these, 322 were actually nuts, 1 was just a blob of chocolate and 1 had an indeterminable centre.

I am proud to be an American, but I am ashamed by the Chocolate we produce. There is so much junk chocolate here that people eat it without complaint and don't know what real chocolate is*. I try to stick to Cadbury at least, European is better though. And milk chocolate is garbage.
*American exceptions are See's, and maybe Godiva. Those are good.

I am reminded of the radio comercial:
Have some fun,
Have some energy,
Have some fun-ergy
Have some Goobers or
Have some Raisinettes.

Dang Bill, that promoted a coughing fit from laughing so hard, nicely done.
And for the connoisseur of chocolate raisins, try Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Coated Raisins. You'll never suffer through Raisinets again.

In California, we had singing raisins. I don't think they had any chocolate on them, though.
