your camera/bag with you in your car to work? Also do you keep it in your car while you are at work or do you brink your bag in with you?

Just curious.

I bring my bag(s) with me and lock them up in a cabinet or in my desk when I'm at work. I live 25 miles from work on the opposite side of town so there are many places I can go on my way home.

Not very often. Usually I carry my Nikon 8700 as my “I wish I had a camera with me” camera. My Canon bags are just to large and cumbersome. Sometimes when I know I want to stop by someplace for a quick lunchtime or after work shoot, my Canon gear foes into my trunk.

I carry camera bag everywhere it’s a amvona.com backpack style bag in it i carry my 30D attached to my 70-200 2.8L and my 300D attached to my Tokina 12-24. I do have a office which is under lock and key / Surveillance so i am not worried about it going missing.

I dive 46KMs each way to and from work and its a mix of highway driving and then some country side so i get lots of opertunities. latley we have had alot of development so the there are alot of hawks along the highway on lamp posts and signs so i am egar this summer to get some better shots of them :D Need that big sign in my rear window " PHOTOGRAPHER ON BOARD - FREQUENT SUDDEN STOPS AND LANE CHANGES"

I usually bring my stuff with me, although definitely not everything. Usually just a body and a couple zooms. I drive a little over 30 miles to work everyday and I try to leave a little early so I have some opportunities before or after work to take some pictures.

I did today...it was an accident. I'm not allowed to bring it in though. They would probably fire me and have me arrested.

There is almost always a camera in my vehicles.

I carry a point & shoot in the car, the big gear doesn't go along to work unless I'm going to need it afterward.

For those who take it to work everyday and leave it in your car: Do you have a 135f2, and where do you park?

I don't have that one, but I have the 70-200 2.8 IS. The problem is, if you're not allowed into the "compound", you might get shot by the armed guards.

Isn't that the truth! It seems like I always have my bag when the drive is just an ordinary one. When I don't bring it is when something happens or the ocean view is so clear.

That being said, I bring my bag with me almost everyday now. I leave my wide angle lens and strobes at home though. I do bring my 45's, 150's, extension tube, tripod (my back up is always in my car), 2 CFs, reader, shutter release cable, cleaning kit and of course the body. But even this seems to way a ton so I am thinking of leaving my 45's and tube at home from now on.....and maybe get a lighter bag.

I bike to work. No camera for me. Last thing I'm tempted to add for my daily 25 mile round trip is another 10 pounds.

Thanks for all the replies. Now that i hae this camera, I find myself looking all around on my way into work for things to shoot. I have seen some great sunrises going into the city, unfortunately I can't stop on the highway to get a shot. Will have to figure out a way though.

I’ve brought mine to work a few times and I wish I could bring it more. I have an hour commute to work through the country and downtown Savannah and there is a lot I wish I could get shots of. The only problem is all vehicles are subject to search prior to entry and cameras are on the list of things not allowed and if found will be confiscated. Big price to pay for something that’s just for fun. I might try to get a P&S just to have for that ‘just in case”.

I used to bring my camera to work every day. Then I got lazy and stopped for about a month. The very day I started bringing the camera to work again, I was sitting at my desk early in the morning. I heard a boom outside my office window. An airplane crashed on the other side of the airport seconds after taking off in very high winds.

I did till I had some business in Chicago and stopped for a coffee came outside and my rear window was broken, called smash and grab and the gear was gone. I guess the area I was in cars are broken into in broad daylight all the time.:(

I always bring my camera and my flash with me to work. If I go to the gym during lunch, I'll usually leave my bag at my desk. If I'm going shopping, the bag comes with me.
