First time shooting surf

Taken at Santa Cruz, CA. Steamer's lane. Used 1dmk2 and 500mm f4 IS. Last 2 with 1dmk2 and 100-400L.

Great shots. I really like these. They are very sharp.

Excellent series Bobby!! Sharp and well exposed.

Only "criticism" is that i would have liked some of them shot from a slightly lower angle.

Was browsing your gallery, the first shot from the 9th is way better than # 2 in your post. Just a thought :-).

Thanks guys. I also wish I had lower angle but only accessible place was from cliff on the side.

I hate shooting at Steamers because the angle is lame. However, when the surf is really clean you can get some nice shots from the pier.
