Okay. Time for me to start posting pics and getting advice on how to become a good macro photographer (I do this just for fun). Everyone else seems to be taking better and better shots but all of mine are still just "blah". Comments, critiques and advice is always welcomed.
Edited only for size, no PP done. Taken with MP-E 65 handheld F 8.0, 1/160. Was about 1/4 inch long baby hopper.

What a little cutie - I just love grasshoppers lol. This little fella looks a bit shy.
Not a bad shot at all given the shooting info you have provided. I cant offer you any advice as you are using the mpe 65, but there are quite a few on here who can, and most probably will.

That's a pretty good shot of a rather cute baby grasshopper! Very similar to some of the shots that I've managed to get over the past Summer.
My only C&C is that the lighting looks a bit too soft, maybe punch up the contrast a tad. I also suspect it has a colour cast, but could be wrong.
The only way to get better is to keep taking shots.

Good shot- just looks slightly soft- perhaps just lack of sharpening. I suspect the focus is just slightly behind the eye - we normally try to get the eye in good focus on bugs.
How was it lit ?
