View Full Version : I think there MAY be a flash exposure issue w/ the 20D

Was at a wedding yesterday and was trying out my new D20 with my brother. While we were takind test shots, he told me all his pictures look like they're under exposing. It sure looked that way. I then shot with mine and the same thing. We were shooting with the Canon 550 flash unit. We then switched back to our 10Ds and they looked great. We both had to compensate the exposures on our 20Ds.

I'll have to play around a little more, but we noticed that setting the Custom Functions to AVERAGE rather than EVALUATIVE helped.

I dont know how much darker the images are on the 20D but on my 300D and even on my 1D i have to up the exp. about 2/3 and sometimes i even go a full stop.

...also you may see there are a number of posts in this forum that address the same topic.
