Death Valley #1

I'm starting to edit the pictures from Death Valley trip earlier this week. I am including two versions for comparison. C&C on the pictures overall and for the crop versions.

I don't think the mountains add anything but taking them out leaves a funky aspect ratio.

Eric, I take it this was originally color? I would like to see that one if it was.I just can't seem to wrap my head around the B&W with this shot.

Looks oversharpened. The texture of the dried mud has turned into mush.
