I've been hemming and hawing over ordering a Tamron 28-75/2.8 XR Di. Lo and behold, this rebate (http://tamron.com/lenses/assets/rebates/A09_rebate_Nov04.pdf) shows up. Looks like my procrastination paid off this time. :D

I was thinking of getting this lens earlier in the year for my 300D but backed off because of the focal length.

Just how useful on a small format DSLR is 28 mm (45mm)?

Well for those who missed the rebate, just keep in mind that had you paid $500 for this lens, it would live up to the price with its quality :)
