New Tamron 11-18mm

I wonder how it will stack up against the Canon 10 - 22?

The announcement says 'Available Spring 2005'. Tamron had me on the hook waiting for their new 200-500 which was supposed to be available in February 2004. I used the cash in August to get a couple Canon lenses, and the Tamron didn't show on the shelves until late September. With that track record, it will probably be Christmas 2005 before you can get one.

Tamron must be using the Ni*on marketing strategy - 'Announce it before Christmas, but don't deliver until next year.'
