Well, actually skateboarding with the SUV's. A dangerous proposition any way you word it though. Mid Manhattan.

really good shot Pio, it does look like a very dangerous pastime.....I love how you usually manage to have an accompanying primary element in your pics, the inclusion of the billboard image is spot on.

Who's the bigger fool? The guy who skateboards among the SUV owners for the cost of the board, or the SUV owners who pay $800 a month and $3.50 every 8 miles?

There's a bicycle lane on that road so he isn't technically in the same lane with traffic lol.

Nice shot

I am always amazed by bicycles on the road in NYC. Skateboard falls in the same category. But I don't think it's foolish. If you live there and are accustomed to that kind of traffic - it's probably easier than you think.

Nice shot.

Great shot !!!!
Some call it stupidity and recklessness. I call it survival of the fittest. The person who skates in a heavy traffic will not live long enough to have children who will also skate in a heavy traffic.

This was taken several months ago, I just dug it out of my archives. It's getting a bit warm here though, usually in mid 40's.

Hehe, I have been known to venture northward a bit sometimes. Thanks Crissa!

Thanks Roger! Glad you saw that, I think the billboard makes this shot interesting.

Nice shot as always Pio!

Thankd DRS!

Thanks for looking and for the comments all! Some very interesting views here. Actually for some people, this is a very effective way of traveling in the city, especially if one lives within a few blocks of where one works. In Manhattan it is difficult to find parking unless you want to pay an exorbitant amount for garage parking, thus it is sometimes best to take public transport. Some people take it further, such as this dude - people often use bikes, inline skates, kick scooters and to a lesser degree skateboards as transportation. It is amusing to see guys in suits rollerblading and women in dresses and heels on a bike on the way to work, I do have photos of those in my archives and I will dig them up.
