It strikes me as odd to pay $35 and send a JPEG not larger than
450 pixels either side -

I wonder if it is real...

Unfortunately.. none of the photographers names were familiar to me either.. but this doesn't mean too much.. I don't know as many photographers by name as I should..

The photos I saw sure looked good!

an entry fee for a competition...

And they don't take visa...
