Speedlite 177A & DReb

Does anyone know if the Speedlite 177a will work on my Digital Rebel :?:

My mother recently gave me this old flash that she used on her AE-1 Program. I found one website that basicly said "your call."

If noone has an answer could someone tell me the "worst case secenario" if I snapped in on and it wasn't compatable?

Worst case, the flash won't fire. Probable case, the flash will behave like an auto-thyristor flash. My old Promaster 5600 with the CN module that I used on my old A-1 works on my 10D.

Thanks I was just worried that the flash may cause some camer problems.

I glad to say that it fires :D

Now I just have to experiment with the flas controls and take lots of pics to get a handle on how it performs with the DReb.
