Hey folks-
I'll make it short and sweet.
I'd like to use the rocket blaster to blow the particles out and am not interested in a contact cleaning method.
So that's pretty much where I'm at. I recently got a $10 GC for Amazon, and was wondering what the general consensus was on the best rocket blaster/manufacturer.
Appreciate the help.

Giotto's Rocket Blaster, from what I have heard, it the best. Personally, I own a Hurricane and have not had any problems with it either.
Eventually you'll end up cleaning the sensor with something else. I orginially thought along your line of thinking, too, but the blaster was not taking care of all of the dust.
Cleaning the sensor is really that big of a deal - just read up, charge the battery and do it.

Doug,
Appreciate the quick reply. From what I've read people seem to have mix reactions with the blaster. From your experience is the issue of finer particles being stuck on the sensor or are the large particles stuck, as well?
I'm hesitant to use any other method as Canon doesn't suggest any other cleaning approach. I've heard about those wand products w/the alcohol solution, but have some mixed reactions with that method.
My main goal is to get the larger particles out. I can live with smaller particles and PP them out.

I have a couple of problems with blowers for cleaning the sensor. They are not filtered and can put as much dust on the sensor as they take off. The dust isn't necessarily removed from the camera just moved around. They don't do a thing for the blobs of lubricant that is flung off of the mechanical stuff when the camera is relatively new.

i believe the Giotto's rocket blowers have a filter on the back.
I use it for the same thing, to keep my sensor cleaned. Its works pretty well...however i know one day im going to need a direct cleaning...however, for now, it works well.
