Does this work for anyone?

They don't work for me, too much to the edge with plain background.

It would give a different feel if there were any clouds in the sky.

For me #1 works. Non standard, but nice. Its abstract and I like that. Since I prefer #1 over #2, I focus on that one. Actually, contrary to sGu, I would think that #1 would improve if the clouds (bottom right) would not be there. It would make the image more abstract, so more "pure". I would also experiment a little with making the image more "graphical" (more contrast, maybe some sketch effect in PS). Not sure whether it works here. Just a thought.

If that thing rotates which I think it does, you should try a longer exposure. A blurred effect may be cool. I like the 2nd photo, but the 1st...I don't know.

How about merging the two shots together? The impression would be that one of the machines is much closer to the other.... I know some will think of this as blasphemic, but given the minimalistic approach, in some artistic sense it sounds logical to me.

Thanks for all the comments everyone.

sgu, I was a little unsure about these myself. Thanks for your honesty.

msol, I agree with you about the clouds. I like the simplicity of the white machine against the plain blue sky. I'll give those sketch ideas a try.

retro, it does move but takes about an hour to do a full rotation, so blurring would be difficult :D

JCK, it's actually the different sides of the same machine, however sticking them both on the same picutre might give a really cool effect. I'll give it a go this evening and let you know.

Cheers!
