I lost the charger cord for the external BP511(?) battery charger.. still have the unit itself, but the ac cable has ran away.. Any ideas where I can get a new one, or do I have to buy a whole new charger unit w/ cable?

Yes.. fortunately,.. unlike most other thing Canon.. the power cord is a standard cord used on AC powered items of all kinds! :)

I've found there are a few versions of that style cord.

Mine have gotten a slight modification down the middle so it now fits

the charger
the other charger
my boom-box
my laptop power supply


The part I cant understand is why the double battery charger in my D30 came with a skinny cord the same guage as a lamp would have, while the single battery charger with my 10D has a massive cable that looks like it could handle 20 amps!!
