My brother recently re-built the engine in his 454SS. After only 200km, the whole engine has to come apart. Something is making metal shavings. Damage was discovered when rear main seal started leaking and he began to replace it.

So I took the opportunity to practice macro with my 17-85.

Interesting pics - sure looks worn. Had to look up 454SS - a chevrolet truck.

Not the best lens for macro but can work with tubes if it's all you've got, definitely looks like a lack of lubrication there; I hope he replaced the oil pump when he rebuilt the engine. Interesting shot.

Yeah, I'm not exactly a macro photographer, but I thought I'd give it a shot. But I'd did enjoy trying to get good pics. Maybe there is room for an Ef-s 60mm in my future
