Hey all,
What are you folks using to organize and edit your photos. I have recently switched from the Windows world to the Mac world and am using iPhoto. I intend to buy a more powerful editor and use iPhoto for organization.
I'm curious what you folks in the Windows world use that is similar to iPhoto.
Any other recommendations on software?

I've also recently switched to the Mac world. I'm anxiously waiting for 'Elements 6 for Mac' to start shipping.

Stop iPhoto immediately. IMO it's terrible for organization. For organizing, if you're on a budget try out Photo Mechanic. It's amazingly simple and easy to use. It's for both Mac and PC. LightRoom is also pretty good for organization and editing.

I used to use Picassa before i got the SmugMug addon error, now i use Lightroom.
I have Lightroom havig ALL my phtoos in the library as im a control freak and like to know where all my pics are and i hardly delete any ... thats wrong, but Lightroom handles the amount of files very very well.
And now with Lightroom 1.4 (as in 1.3) i can upload to SmugMug using an 3rd party addon.

I'm on the fence at this point and may move back to the Windows world, so that's why I'm looking for another option over iPhoto. i have used it and it's not bad. Maybe Lightroom is an option.

I've been testing Lightroom and it does a decent job but once your catalog has about 40,000 images it just gets way too slow for my liking.
I have always preferred C1 Pro as my RAW converter and I am awaiting the Pro component of release 4. Version 3.7x worked well with Iview Media Pro which was a good cataloging system. Microsoft has bought them and I am hoping they don't screw that up.
If all works out the way I want it to, it will be with Iview for my catalog/library and Capture One 4 Pro for the converter.

Lightroom here.
And the same license will work on Mac or Windows, so you're covered.
Before LR, I used Photoshop Elements. I know in previous Mac versions of Elements the organizer was not included... not sure if that will be included in version 6 for the mac.

I always thought you got Adobe Bridge with Photoshop Elements for Mac, which is why you didn't get the organiser. I maybe wrong.
