Besides drag racing, I love BMX bikes. I took these late last year right after getting my XTi. Going from a point and shoot Sony to the Canon was one of the best moves I ever made. Heres 3 untouched (just cropped) pics I took in auto mode (These were in the first 350 pics I took with the XTi, have since taken close to 2000 pics and learning all the great functions!) . Thats my girlfriend in the last pic going for the pass. She won the race that day and yes, she races the boys!

Nice shots (although a little out of focu) but you might want to consider better positioning and maybe slightly wider crops. For the jumps, (if possible) get the camera close to ground level and try shooting up at the riders.

I used to race BMX years ago so I know how fun it is. Keep shooting and have fun :)

Thanks Chris. I still have the originals and can crop them wider. Like I said, that was my first weekend with the camera, I'll try your ideas in a couple weeks at the Redline Cup.

Ahh i miss BMX racing. Used to do it in middle school/high school but it just became too much driving to get to all the tracks. I would just say some sharpening and wider crops as far as advice though.
