cheers for the comments!

black and white really doesnt suit it.
ive actually played around with it quite alot, workflow something along the lines of;

-Correct the RAW
- some dodging and burning in PS,with a general clean up
-level and curves
-gradient map B&W conversion
-brushing through some of the reflections on the tarmac
-noise added
-cross processed curves
-sharpened

i think i achieved what i set out to
:)

Ace as it is, nicely done. :D

I like it too, but the centre of the roof of the car is just a little to burnt out for me, you tend to always look back at it when there is so much more to see with in the rest of the image

I agree with the burned out reflection. I think it would add to the image if it weren't quite so overwhelming. As for the rest of the image, I love it. Love the pp as well.

i like it. i think black and white would ruin the "concrete" color. awesome car too, what is that?

I think it is an old Ford Escort Mk1 with some added wheel arches

Yeah it's a full-fat nutter spec MkI Escort. If memory serves me well, it runs in various period series on tracks all over the UK, and occasionally Spa. Quite a highly developed thing, the engine in it is nuts too IIRC.

a kinda back in the day slide look
IMO, you succeeded - the only thing missing is Jim Clark at the wheel.

It looks good and could also be good with a good tritone. This kinda looks like it was printed from some very old underexposed fuji velva.

The glair on the roof is a little over done looking to me and around the white line on the road seems a little light as well. besides that well done.
