Thanks for posting the link.
Although I have had the 20D for 4 or 5 weeks
it was nice to read the whole review - like a pat on the back
for my 'baby EOS-1D'

How can a review of a new camera NOT mention all the problems people have had with them regarding lockups, autofocus, battery grip, firmware-update-of-death, etc. etc.?
What possible credibility can a reviewer hope to have when ignoring such widespread issues?
I could just about accept reviews of the 10D recommending it despite common AF problems, as they often didn't appear right away. But with the *admitted* problems with lockups on this one, the review just comes across as a Canon advert.

If Phil didn't mention that then...well...he should.

I thought all those problems had been corrected in the D20's they are shipping now.
In any case, I expect a good review to report on the camera they are testing. If they base their report on what other people are saying rather than what they find out for themselves they are not being objective. I have much less respect for reviews that just repeat common gossip than those that give detailed information based on their own testing.
The review in question does point out things the reviewed did not like about the D20, it was not all Canon advertising.

He was asked about the lockup problems in the forums on his site and he said that he never experienced any lockups whatsoever. For what it's worth, I haven't either, though I haven't had my camera very long.

No problems yet with 20d and 1.05 firmare, here. Just finished a field trip into the wetlands and had no problems just very rewarding fast accurate focus and flawless performance. LOVE this camera, replaced 10D. I have sold my A2E now. The D20 is my kind of camera.

why do people keep writing it as a D20 ??
Makes it sound like a Nikon clone.
It is a 20D.

The front of my Canon camera says "D60".
Why did Canon get it backwards on subsequent models?

On the other hand, Nikon is D first and Canon is D last. :(
I think I like Nikon being number LAST better.
