I have been mainly a Landscape and commercial photographer. (products and large scenes) I really enjoy taking portraits of children and shooting weddings. I have done a few weddings and 7 port sessions with children this year and found out that I think I really have a nack for it.

Here is my situation...

I want to become a full time high end wedding and port photog. In my daughters class there is another father that does that. (Weddings, ports mainly seniors) We talk shop a lot while waiting for our kids and seem to get along very well. How do I approach him about a job? How can I convince him that it would be a good idea to hire me? Since he does weddings and seniors, can my shooting children make him a cut of profits while I build referrals and my business? thanks for reading my long question...

Does he have a big business's for his photography?

If he does it solo, i don't know what your chances are, of him hiring you.
You might be able

Just get into the conversation, and tell him you have done weddings before. Ask him if he would be interested in someone second shooting with him.

Good luck
