Been going for 25 years and spend most of the week drinking/partying. This year I didn't make it over til Thursday and couldn't walk the track due to a nasty cold/fever.

Anyway, here are some shots I came away with. I'm pretty pleased as I've never really shot any sports or motosports...great tips about panning in this forum:)!

C&C is most welcome:

OMG what a shock to see a GT-40, like 1967 again!

Great.

Some very nice pans there :) Those cars do look cool imo, certainly go well too. Problem with pans is they can get a bit samey, were you able to shoot any head on or 3/4 stuff, would be good to mix it up a bit if poss.

Were they shot with your 70-200 F4? Looks like a nice bit of kit, pretty reasonably priced and quite small and lightweight isn't it? Was thinking of getting one myself :)

Very impressive. To me they look as good as any of the seasoned pros shots from Sebring. Keep it up.

Gizzy: Technically, very good shooting... some suggestions though would be to shoot a little wider composition. Your shots are a little "car-centric" and don't really capture the event. For the most part, they can be "any-track-USA." You want to use the technique you have and place the car into context. With the tight headshot of the R10, I'd consider pulling back and getting a portion of the wheel (spinning) into the frame.

I know some might complain about the aarmco barrier in the foreground, I like it... I like photos that tell a story... Sebring is not the prettiest track, but it's got it's personality and it's history... figure this race was 56 years in the making... the track is part of the story.. not just the cars.

Good work.

Very very nice. I'll be taking in the ALMS race at Mosport again this year and your work has inspired me to work harder at taking better racing photos.

Thanks!

Great shots. I need to get down there to Sebring. Do the Rolex 24 every year, just been too laze to make the drive further south.

Azza,

Thanks.

Since I was sick I spent a total of maybe 30 min. shooting and couldn't get any other angles.

Yes...all shot with my 70-200...what a lens...pretty much what you see is out of the camera.

John Thawley,

Thanks...love hearing c&c from someone of your expertise!

Still have a ton of shots to go through but these were the ones that stood out...perhaps that's why they're tight as they are the ones that pop in my small bridge viewer.

Being sicked killed my week...I envisioned walking the track several times (like I have the past 24 years) and getting some great shots. Always next year!

Nice work!

Frank,

Thank you so much. I owe much of my success if you will to you. When reading up on panning I came across countless threads by you...very, very informative and much appreciated:D!
