So in between completing some schoolwork and cleaning up my room I decided to shoot some beer bottles. I have never done something like this before (using a secondary light source). At first I tried using my cell phone's flash for a secondary light. Using it un shielded and then using paper and tissue paper to make it less harsh. Afterwards I found a lighter and tried using it a little bit. This was just some basic experimental fun but I am so happy with some of the shots. The 'X' especially.

C & C Please!

#1 - Cell phone flash behind a sheet of paper 45 degrees to the camera

#2 - Flame from a lighter 45 degrees to the camera behind a sheet of paper

#3 - Flame from a light directly behind the bottle for a quick second and then 45 degrees to the camera for a quick second

#4 - Flame from a lighter, directly above camera swooping to the left of the shot.

#5 - Flame from a lighter creating the X in the background (my favorite shot :) )

TASTY!!!! I'm glad that this state NC finally allowed these to be sold. My fav. lighting from these is #4. But any of them would look better in a cooler of crushed ice... preferably sitting here beside me :)

The last one is interesting, but the rest don't do anything for me. Play with it some more. Try getting the whole bottle in the frame and place it off center to add some interest to the shot.
