Are indoor photos harder to take? It seems so . . .

Hi all -

Are indoor photos of people harder to take than outdoor photos? I just got a 420EX for my G3 and my pictures are either coming out underexposed or yellow.

I'm taking pictures in Av mode, so isn't the camera supposed to choose the proper shutter speed?

In regards to the White balance, do I always need to choose one or can I leave it on auto?

When I am in Av, Tv, or M, do I need to set my own Flash level for my 420? If so, what level should it be for normal indoor lighting?

Lighting is everything when shooting indoors. It can be tricky some times. You should have no problem adjusting with your G3.

... if you shoot RAW ....

WB correction can be a problem, if your motive is illuminated by the flash, but the background is tungsten or halogen or something else.

Do you bounce the flash or use a diffusor? That might help as well.
